For 24 years, the military took me—and eventually my wife, whom I met while serving—around the globe. From combat deployments to distant duty stations, and later with our children in tow, we experienced the world through the lens of service, adventure, and a family constantly on the move. At every stop, we searched for keepsakes that carried real meaning: souvenirs that were built to endure, compact enough to travel anywhere, and worthy of the adventures they represented. Too often, what we found were trinkets that broke, cluttered our bags, or simply didn’t hold up to the story behind them.
